The Search for Harmony - N 26° 04.234 W 080° 16.769

"HELLO - I am Harmony, and I have a treasure hidden deep in the woods by a beautiful lake. Not our lake, but one very similar. Put your skills to the test and try and find my geocache if you can"
These kids were able to find it! So ask yourself: Do you and your family and friends have what it takes to find Harmony's geocache?
NOTE: If you are unfamiliar with Geocaching, there is an informational
link in the right hand column of this page.
THE SEARCH FOR HARMONY geocache is also the starting place for THE GOOD NEIGHBOR CLUB's travel bugs to begin their journey - you can also learn more about their journey by clicking on the "BUGS" tabs on the main page.
So give it a go. After all, How many people would love to be able to say that "They found Harmony".
Enjoy your search

An easy walk through some beautiful woods. I always take a moment or two to meditate while out here - and it never fails - I always find Harmony here. I think you will too.
This is a very relaxing easy walk, best done early to avoid the heat and bugs. (It is also a great time to observe all the butterflies that also love this place). The cache is located on one of the prettiest series of trails in all of south Florida. It can sometimes be muddy, but usually thats not too big a deal. You share this trail with horses so dogs are not allowed on this trail. NOTE: Other trails at this county park do allow dogs - you can literally walk for miles here as I often do. If you see a Basenji - you have an added treat in store - he has a trackable dog tag!
I suggest parking in the first parking lot on your right as you enter the park - you will be close to the footbridge that will take you to an island with picnic tables. The cache is not here - but if you go onto the the island and look across the water - those are the woods you are looking for. You will know you have found the right area if you discover you are walking through the woods with trails named "The Outback Trail", and "The Kangaroo Cut" trails.
Good Luck.

WARNING:
There are people who try and spoil the fun of good people by stealing geocaches and their travel bugs - Mugglers. So when you visit a geocache, use caution so as not to seen.

Welcome - and enjoy the ride:

Took my father along for the cache. It was great to show him what a larger cache looks like. Wish I brought a couple trackables with me. Next time.

ReplyDeleteThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.

ReplyDeleteMy first unassisted find. Easy find with 1 unique content. Nice travel bug idea but looks like someone already moving it along.
ReplyDeleteWow - that was faster than I had expected. Will be fun to follow its progress. THANKS!
ReplyDeleteAfter church and a nice lunch, I took my mom out geocaching. She only recently started caching but after I gave her a lil lesson on the gps she was off and running! This was her first unassisted find- Congrats CachyKathy! Neat content in this one but I worry the way it's wrapped up it will look like trash. P.S. Looks like TB was picked up already and moving on. :)
ReplyDeleteFound after a short walk on a beautiful S. Florida morning. TFTC

ReplyDeleteEnjoyed an excellent time caching in and around Fort Lauderdale with TAG and John&Jelene, having the sights expertly described to us by local girl Jelene.
Good-sized cache that was a quick find for John, sadly it wasn't purple or shaped like a rhinoceros.
13 of 14 for today.

Found today with our English friends (TAG and Lime Candy) who were visiting with us and seeing the sites nearby. Since we are all cachers, we mixed in some caching as well. Stopped at this park on our way to the Everglades. TFTC
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time - but did you discover the clues that would assist you in finding "The Travel Bug"?
ReplyDeleteSo, we found it but did a much shorter walk than the one in the description, more than one way to those two trees and the Christmas Tree Circle.
ReplyDeleteVery Very sneaky - LOL
ReplyDeleteWe found it! Our Brownie Troop learned about letterboxing today, and we were so excited to find this cache! We took the long way around but it made for a peaceful walk. thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy scout troop didnt make this far from our campsite to visit the rhino so I made a stop after learning about Sam. Dropped a TB and grabbed the hitchhiker will move it on soon SL TFTH February 4, 2013 10:55am

Another great find. The second time we went to look for it. Log signed as the Cool Crew. Another great day of Geocaching with Goodeygirl, her son and friends and my son and I. Can't wait for more while on Vacation.
ReplyDeleteMy Very First Cache!!! I am new to this and chose my name to be Florida White Rabbit. I will soon be planting Caches all over. Very excited! Great hiding spot and your clue was good for me cause I have lived her long enough to know what you meant about the Christmas smell. :) I left you an egg. :)

Out caching with TheMissingWolfeClan, DylanStrongMan, coolboy03 and a couple of newbies. We really made a day of caching and playing. This was our supposed to be our second of three finds in the park but my phone died. Back to the playground to let the little ones play while it charged. When we returned to make it our 3rd find DylanStrongMan found it. Took some swag, left some swag, TFTC signed the log cool crew
ReplyDeleteI'm in visiting my Uncle with Friends. Found this with the friends. Let her son use my gps to find it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTftc. Not hidden. We re hid it best we could.
ReplyDelete"The Robbie Halloran" travel bug is on the move - He has ended his visit with "The Purple Rhinoceros" and has started on his "Search for Harmony".
ReplyDeleteGood location
ReplyDeleteChecked on the cache - looking good - and I love the items visitors have left in exchange, very cool. While I was in the park, I looked for Hazel's cache but was unable to find it - bummer. ( Gelibean found it I certainly should be able to! LOL) Beautiful day out there despite the heat. Spiders everywhere. "The Blue Bear Cutie" travel bug has been relocated to to this cache - The Purple Rhinoceros - go find it and move it along. The "Robbie Halloran" is in transit to visit "Harmony".
ReplyDeleteFound it!
ReplyDeleteNever knew this trail was here, tftc

I walked toward the entrance to the park and found the trailhead for this nice cache, I guess the reverse of what was intended. Found the cache easily, and appreciated the recent maintenance that was done to the cache; it's always nice to find a clean, stocked cache. I took the TB since I will be traveling to Nashville shortly and can give it some good mileage. I left a beaded bookmark. I made the circuit around the little lake after finding the cache. What a nice trail!" TFTH
ReplyDeleteThe mosquitos were ridiculous, but we found it!! Baggie has holes, but container is fine. Found a Team Ducky travel bug, will take him on a trip real soon. Tftc!
