What is "THE GOOD NEIGHBOR CLUB?"

This is an online club that provides its followers with local nature related resources - we also offer a challenging option to improve your quality of life by enjoying the great outdoors in a new and exciting way - "geocaching" . 

"THE SEARCH FOR HARMONY"

GEOCACHING with The Good Neighbor: (For a full description of "geocaching, click the tab in the right hand column titled "Geocaching") But briefly, its a fun activity combining being outdoors and playing "hide and seek". The hidden item is The Good Neighbor Geocache (Named " THE SEARCH FOR HARMONY") and the "seek" is your ability to find it using the coordinates provided  as to its location. In addition, there are the travel bugs that wander around from this geocache and others - some with a goal, some without. Basically, The Travel Bugs are fun forest sprites that travel from geocache to geocache.

How to find "THE SEARCH FOR HARMONY" ; Go to the "Search for Harmony " tab and get the coordinates that belong to this treasure - now use a GPS device to find this location and ultimately the Geocache. Its been hidden by me and Its right here in Broward County, just a few miles away in one of the prettiest county parks anywhere in the state. Its an easy find and kids especially love this one - I try to regularly place a lot of fun items in the cache that a young Henry David Thoreau might enjoy - kids especially seem to love that. So put your skills to the test and see if you can find the treasure - or have "Mugglers" gotten there first.  Whats a "Muggler - Click the "Geocache" tab to learn all about them.

NOTE: Part of the object of geocaching is to enjoy nature - you can also do this at home - see " Finding Harmony at Home" Link to access information about the what is needed to turn your property into a NWF Certified Wildlife Habitat. Maybe this is the year you start a wildlife friendly garden - its easy and the steps are listed for you to follow. I have also included instructions on how to meditate - its my therapy, could be yours as well!

The Good Neighbor Club Goals:

1- To protect our wildlife friendly mobile home park by encouraging the appreciation of the nature around us and by sharing information on wildlife friendly practices.

2- To keep our community a quality place to live and discourage it from being taken over by morally challenged residents who participate in behaviors that could eventually turn our mobile home

3- To encourage residents and friends to participate in Recreation/ Leisure activities 
offered here in South Florida that get people out-of-doors and into the 
beautiful natural environment that we are so fortunate to have at our disposal.

COMMUNICATION: The tool we use to keep in touch and share 

information is "the computer" - no club meeting or dues and every

good neighbor is welcome to join. The Good Neighbor Club embraces
diversity.
